PayPal integration FAQ
What to know before connecting PayPal to BubblaV.
How do I connect PayPal?
How do I connect PayPal?
In developer.paypal.com, open Apps & Credentials, choose Live or Sandbox, create or open a REST API app, enable Transaction search, Invoicing and Customer disputes under Features, and copy the Client ID and Secret. Then open Dashboard → your website → Integrations → PayPal, click Connect, paste both values and submit. See the setup guide for the full steps.
What data can the chatbot see?
What data can the chatbot see?
The four tools only look up one payment, invoice or dispute at a time, and only when the customer gives the transaction ID or invoice number plus the matching email. They return status, amount, dates and what the payment was for. Payer names, addresses, phone numbers and account IDs are never shown in the chat.
Why does the chatbot ask for an email address?
Why does the chatbot ask for an email address?
The email address verifies that the person asking is the payer or the invoice recipient. The transaction ID or invoice number alone is not enough, so a visitor cannot look up other people's payments.
How do PayPal payment links work?
How do PayPal payment links work?
When a customer explicitly asks to pay with PayPal, the chatbot creates a PayPal invoice for the confirmed amount and shares its payment link in the chat. PayPal does not email the invoice. Each invoice is tagged with the reference "BubblaV chat", and an email can have at most 3 unpaid links per 24 hours. Check that the invoice is paid before you fulfil an order. You can turn the payment-link tool off on the integration's Configure page.
Why does the chatbot say the payment is not found?
Why does the chatbot say the payment is not found?
The transaction ID and the payer's email must both match, and the payment must be within about the last 6 months. A new payment can take up to 3 hours to appear in PayPal's transaction search.
What is the difference between Live and Sandbox credentials?
What is the difference between Live and Sandbox credentials?
Sandbox credentials come from the Sandbox tab and only see sandbox payments and invoices. Live credentials come from the Live tab. Tick the Sandbox box when you connect with Sandbox credentials, or they will be rejected.
Why am I told a PayPal app feature is missing?
Why am I told a PayPal app feature is missing?
The PayPal app needs Transaction search, Invoicing and Customer disputes enabled. In developer.paypal.com open Apps & Credentials, open your app, enable the features under Features and save. PayPal can take a few hours to apply the change. Then disconnect and connect PayPal again.
Bring PayPal answers into your chat
